Two of the kits I have wanted to get all year arrived today, the Dragon kits of the He 162D and the He 219B.

These kits look great in the box but I know they will be a pain in the a** to actually build. ;)

The new swept forward wings for the He 162D are on the right, notice the kit includes the older He 162A wings and tail, perfect for adding parts to the spares box for other what-if projects! :D

So what have you got planned for them?

I built a 219 Uhu about 15 years ago. Tamigawa I think. If I remember it wasn't a bad kit at all to build. Loads of fun! I can't wait to see how yours turns out, Matrixone.

Greg,
Not sure what style of camo or what markings the He 162 will have yet, it will be quite a while before I will be able to start it anyway since I have my work table loaded with kits that need finishing.

Brian,
The Tamiya He 219 is a very nice kit and like most other Tamiya kits is well engineered, and even has the nose weight included!
I expect the Dragon He 219 to be a real battle in building it but like the other Dragon kits I have built will look great once finished.

Dragon makes good kits of what-ifs and I hope these two kits are a success for them so they will consider producing more what-if type of kits.

I am also waiting for the 1/48 scale kits of the Ta 154 Mistel and Ta 152C due later this year, the Ta 152C is at the top of my 'need to have' list.

Hi All read somewhere that the Tamiya 162 tail is noticably short in span 1/4 inch or more, so the Dragon kit may help to corect that and still let you complete the new wing outline ;)

Wooksta,
I checked my older Dragon He 162A kit and it has the V-tail included, the only difference I can see in the old and new kits is the swept forward wings in the He 162D kit.
One thing that I really do like in the new He 162D (and the He 219B) kit is the decals, they have good color, are sharply printed, and are thinner than what was in older Dragon kits.
