COMRADES!!!!

Is GLORIOUS day for posting Soviet Union's newest shipbourne attack helicopter.  Da, this was supposed to be debuted on May Day, but the weather was not cooperating for the military parade.

This helicopter would fly off the Samsonov class ships that the Mi-24K's fly off of, as well as one being assigned to each of the Kirov class cruisers.  They provide the same sort of support that the West's AH-1's and other shipbourne attack helicopters attempt to provide, but cannot due to the West's inherant flaws in executing their own doctrines.

This particular example is armed for multi-role duty, with two AS-7 ASMs, two AS-10 antiradar missiles, and two AA-12 AAM's.

This particular model is an old 1/72 AMT Hokum, rearmed and repainted.  The model actually looks like one of the prototype Hokums, other than it being a two seater.  Not a bad build, other than the rotors, which must have been designed by enslaved monkeys somewhere in the West!

A most impressive effort! I agree that the decadent West could emulate our brave Soviet naval heroes and post attack helos on their ships, but they are inherently too foolish and weak-minded to match the brilliant inventiveness of our Socialist brethren.

Now if only Skywave would produce a set of mighty Soviet helicopters to accompany their unmatched Soviet fighters set.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.
