Over the weekend, I went to the local Toy Liquidators at the outlet mall, and scored a Kitech 1/48 Su-35, and Spitfire Mk. XIV.  I gotta say, they look pretty decent.  For $9 for the Flanker, and $5 for the Spit, I figured I couldn't pass it up.  My only kvetch is, the rough surface texture on them.  I figure a couple coats of paint, and I won't have to sweat it...

Anybody know anything about this company?  If these go together decent, I'll head back for the 1/48 Electric Jet and the Su-27 (also $9) and a 1/32 OH-6 for $5.

Now I just have to pick speculative markings...

I believe Kitech are one of those companies that make cheap copies or reverse engineered kits of better known kits of the big guys.

I bought one as well a while ago (under the Zhengdefu brand). From what I can tell, it is a re-pop (ripoff???) of the Academy kit.

Not the worst of kits - in fact, quite a bit of fun - the only real problem I found was the canopy was too small.

Luverly... <_<  Hopefully, mine won't have that issue.

Hopefully...

I have their 1/72 AH-1T and compaired it to the Italeri version.  As to be expected-knock off but I paid just $3 for it.  Need to get more..........

I've got a few of the Hobby Craft boxings of the AH-1Z, have yet to build them though (perfect for whiffing ;-)

Sorry, guys, I haven't charged up the camera to take those promised shots.

I have, however (mostly) slapped together the Spitfire, just to get my old skills loosened up (as it's been a couple of years since my hands last hit styrene), and I have to tell you, one word describes the Spit:

Disappointing.

Nothing wrong with the fit, for the most part.  The outline looks the part (and I'm no JMN to complain even if it didn't).  My issue is this:  There's nae a frakking panel line aft of the cockpit!   I don't have a scribing set, nor do I feel like being arsed doing it.  It does, however, torque me off royally! :banghead:

I can only imagine what joys the Flanker is going to throw my way... :redx:

Although, for five bucks, what do I really think I'm getting?  Certainly not a Tamiyagawa shake-and-bake kit...

It'll make a good Wif subject.  Time to go dig out my old decal stash! ;)

Pics of the Spitfire here.  I'll have to shoot some pics of the Flanker and upload them in the next day or so.

Sorry for the delay!

Okay, Here's the Flanker in all her glory.  I've also posted some other stuff in other albums, including updated Spitfire pics.

Check it out!
