Wow, looks like you've got a couple of contenders on the go here.....

The MiG is now substantially painted, although some more work has to be done on the dark green to remove overspray and some touching up is needed on the underside. The Humbrol matt enamels are still looking a bit patchy but experience suggests that the pre and post decal varnishing will blend everything smoothly together (I hope!).

Is that winter camo based on a real scheme?  If not it should be!

Looks gorgeous, and would I imagine be very effective!

Thanks.

While most Russian winter schemes were either overall white or had started that way and then worn down into a patchy finish, there are photos of some aircraft where the white has clearly been applied in segments to create a temporary three colour finish.

But the white was usually of poor quality and wore quickly so, while my MiG's colour scheme has a basis in reality, it looks more pristine than most actual examples.

That's one sweet paintjob!

The MiG is now finished. Here are couple of photos taken tonight. I'm going to try to take some in natural light before posting in the completed builds thread.

The Hurricane is almost done. You can't really see in the photo, but it still needs a final coat of varnish.

Aaaah!! that Mig is a real stunner!!!

And the Hurricane is beautifully painted, too

Can't tell which one I prefer, the Hurri or the Mig. Both are simply awsome, the Hurri's scheme is simple but VERY effective and the cammom on the MiG is superb. Damm fine job on both of them.

I like the fact that you left the underwing panels red, it really sets it off nicely :)
