Sorry, I guess I'm looking for a probe like this:

But I don't see one in the photo.

Actually, there isn't a probe on it, but it does have the probe attachment bracket just over the cockpit. You can see it just at the tip of the Polaris' nose in the first picture.

Wonder why the probe isn't on it? Off for maintenance perhaps?

you're right Todd, cool line up - whose is the unmarked Il-76?

And Italy don't have their own E-3s anyway, do they?  US, France & UK are the only NATO members with their own AFAIK.

I was thinking the same thing about the probe issue....looks like the mount is there.

And don't forget NATO itself has them,  they were the first export customer according to an article in a recent Combat Aircraft magazine I have.
