Taken me a little while to upload these, the Yorkshire Airshow was held at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, just outside York.  As reported elsewhere, it wasn't great, many of the stars that were supposed to be there never made it, there weren't many traders & it may be the last airshow at Elvington.  Despite that, I enjoyed it as you got a chance to be closer to the display aircraft than at any of the big shows.  A few pics:

Star of the show, Lusty Lindy, Victor K.2 which is kept in taxiable condition:

Some more glamourous ladies, the wing walkers of Team Guinot Skincare, formerly Utterly Butterly:

Steramans in this shot, somewhere.....

Under that cap, that girls a redhead Tom! ;)

Just had to post the gusset shot.......  :o

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Vietnam era UH-1.  Apparently the fellas missus bougt him a flying lesson for his birthday, he got the bug & got his liscence.  A few years later he came home with Huey under his arm.....

Younger brother, Royal Netherlands Air Force SAR AB 412, nice display:

Hunter pair, one of the most colourful displays I've seen!  Which flavour do you prefer, Raspberry Ripple or Rocket Lolly???

Missinformation? The Victor was a V-bomber like the Vulcan

The Vulcan was planned to display, but like at every other airshow this year, she hasn't turned up because the guys are still trying to get her in a fully airworthy state.  Trouble was, it was known several weeks before hand that it wouldn't be there, looks like the BBC have got their hands on old info & not checked their facts.  Saying that, although it didn't include the Vulcan for some time, the list on the Yorkshire Airshow website bore no relation to what actually turned up!

I was talking to a pilot friend at work & he said the main reason there was so little there was the weather.  Although we've had much worse this summer the cloudbase was variable, 1000ft max & only 300-400ft in places, so a lot of air traffic just wan't bothering to take off.  The wind was bit gusty as well, making it a bit treacherous.  I think this also put paid to the traders & travelling public.  For those who were sorely dissapointed this year, I'd say see what happens next year, as even some of the bigger UK airshows like Waddo have been hit badly by the this summers bad weather.

Thanks Todd!  I've been racking my brains ever since I posted, the more I looked at pics of the Oxford, the more I was certain it wasn't that, although the two are very similar.  That'll teach me to listen to the announcer next time!  As a thankyou, here's some more pics of that eyecatching Dutch SAR bird:
