This has a drool factor of about 100%. maybe more. and I agree, keep the sharkmouth if possable.

i'm not here, i'm a figment of someones imagination

AeroplaneDriver

Rest easy fellas, there will be a sharkmouth on the finished article.

Anyway, here is an shot of it mostly painted.  I've still got to paint the radome, either a different gray, or possible black to give an older feel.  I'm leaning towards a shade of gray though.

The wingtip missile rails have been removed to ease masking , but they are the rails from an F-16 to give more of an evolved-F-16 look than the funky Rafale rails.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

AD that's one of the sharpest camo paintjobs to come down the pike in a while! Awesome!

QuoteJust my two cents. Evan will correct  me if I am wrong. In spite of Starfighter example, wing tip tanks in a supersonic airframe are just a nasty source of vibration.
Well, straight tip tanks like the F-104 had don't do you that much good in some ways (esp. regarding drag since them play hell with the area-ruling. If I was going to put tiptanks on a 1/72 model like this, I'd use ones from a 1/48 F-5A/B (I don't think the F-5E or F-5F kits have them ('sides, my understanding is that, while the structure and plumbing for them is still there, the F-5E/F, and for that matter the F-20, were never cleared officially to use them)).

Just my $0.02.

AD, it's looking gorgeous, there.

Do you have any larger picture of this beauty??
How did you realize this scheme?? With masking tape?

I'll have bigger pics this evening.

The straight lines are masked with Tamiya tape, the camo with Blu-Tack (the sticky stuff for hanging posters).
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

QuoteWhatever you do, keep the sharkmouth! (It enhances the look of any a/c by a billion percent!)

A.D., this one was just too good to pass on.
Did you ever post completed pics?  This is one of the most natural-looking recombination of parts I've ever seen.
