Their attempt to force surplus F-101s upon the Canadian Air Force rebuffed, McDonnell  Douglas watches many of its fighter orders go to Avro, and finally in desperation launch  a partnership with the Canadian company to produce a U.S. variant which incorporates some hard lessons from overseas action during the sixties.

This is the 1/48 Hobbycraft Arrow mated to the forward section of a Monogram F-15; the Pheonix missile system and some other miscellaneous parts from the Monogram F-14.  Built in early nineties.

I love it!!

It is a great departure from the type's boring forward fuselage. I always thought that airplane laking in that department. A subject to be whiffed anyways!!!

Nils - thanx (although I have been here before, but my registration was erased and until I saw Geoff and some of the others at the '07 Nationals, had a bear of a time shaking out the problem).

Anthony, the decals were from a Monogram F-106, and forgot to mention the radome is a Blackbird intake-spike.

CC - shoddy camerawork result of lot of inexperience over the years (and some of the models on my website I no longer have, so not much can be done re-shooting them).  Anyway, recently picked up a dig cam and learning how to use it.

More, soon, working on some other projects.
