So, some time back BdB threw me a challenge.  Build a spat fighter and resist the urge to make fun of Brian in the process.  Rather than to deny that such challenge was ever issued, I am formally announcing my intention of building the leanest, meanest looking spat fighter ever whatiffed, so incredible that Brian would be reduced to a blubbering, drooling orgasmic heap on the floor.  Build it, I will.  Not make fun of Brian?  Well, sorry bud, I can't resist  :P

How will I do it?  I don't know.  I've been working on a few concepts, and I have a rough idea of how the final product will be.  I'll be shopping for donor parts over time, and if I'm lucky I might get to add it to the group build, but I envision this to be a long-term project.

So, now I'm committed.  Watch this space over time.

Supertom has picked up the gauntlet I threw down. The other part of this challenge is that I've got to build some sort of "pointy jet thing". I've got a couple of ideas.

I have no doubt Tom will meet this challenge with great aplomb. I can't wait to see what he comes up with!

I'll be glad to assist him with the "secret" knowledge of how to scratchbuild spats. Just as soon as someone explains to me what a "burner can" is.

How about this - whilst the nose landing gear retracts, those rear ones look fixed and somewhat spatted:

Maybe you could use it as a basis?  Either grab a kit & butcher it or do some serious surgery on a Pfeil?

PS, I don't know if I love or hate that fighter!?!?!   :unsure:  :wub:  :unsure:  :angry:  :unsure:  Got to admit, until I saw Gregs caption I thought it was a Manga creation!
