 Awesome! What's the NATO reporting name going to be?

Flamebutt?

QuoteVery nice! I suppose that, the jet being a booster, it was started in flight only , thus avoiding to burn the tailwheel  ;)
Or replace the tailwheel with a tailskid out of some good heat-resistant steel.  Gorgeous bit of work there.

Amazing looking bird there McGrieg. Also a stunning bit bit of modelling/conversion.

BTW, love the Flamebutt code name....

 Oh darn. I just remembered that reporting names for prop driven planes have one syllable, wheras jets have two.

So I suppose Flamebutt still applies if..

-Mixed propulsion aircraft get two syllables. The MiG-13 and Su-5 never got codenames AFAIK, so theres no precident against it.

-The Flamebutt was first seen by the west with props feathered, removed, or otherwise not visible for whatever reason and it was assumed to be a pure jet; and in this case the original name stuck.
