So I was looking at the plastic of my XtraKit Scimitar last night, I couldn't help but notice the fuselage resembles a CF-100 and is about the same size (never really realized that it was as big as it is).  What if you put the swept wings from it on the Clunk ---- or put the twin seat nose of the Clunk on the Scimitar --- or the wings and the twin seat nose of the Clunk onto the Scimitar -------
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

Carefull Robert, that way lies madness........  -_-

But VEEEEERY interesting nonetheless!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

I suppose you'd get something not unlike a two-seat Supermarine 508/529.  ;D

That's just what I was thinking Jon ---

The Curtiss XF15C-1 mixed-power fighter used the R-2800-34W so its definitely a believable combo.

Comparative specifications of XF15C-1 and FR-1 engines:

R-2800-34W
Diameter: 52.80"
Length: 78.134"
Weight: 2358.5 lbs
HP/RPM: 2100/2500(takeoff)

R-1820-72WA
Diameter: 55.12"
Length: 47.56"
Weight: 1341 lbs
HP/RPM: 1350/2700(takeoff)

I think you might want the lengthened tail and J-34 of the XFR-4.  ;D
