Here's the basic concept. I've enlarged the flap area and deleted the landing lights, not sure where to put them yet.

At the mo it's still unarmed cos I haven't worked out if four guns will fit twixt the u/c and wing fold. The arrestor hook is still to come. Wing fold is at the dihedral break.

You're actually managing to make this a/c look good.

And, with a Boulton-Paul Defiant, that's no mean feat.

How about a pintle-mounted rearward firing gun in the aft cockpit? Or is that too much of an Americanism?

British two seats naval fighters don't need no stinkin' rear defense!  The pilot enjoys the body of the navigator as additional armour.
