It's quite beyond my present budget, but it could be a interesting project for someone or some group with the resoursces and connections.

There's a good possibility there Cap, but let me see what's in the boxes first.  I've got a couple of these VP Arrows in my stash and I can't remember what you get in the package.  All I can remember is that they are quite good with some nice detail, I'll keep everyone updated.

Cool, glad someone got them who'll appreciate them.  As I remember, it's not too bad a kit at all.  *chuckle* I'll resist the temptation of claiming one kit as a "finders fee" :D

Yes I have a couple of them in the stash already and tthey are quite good in detail. I can't remember though if it had undercarriage, I'll see if I can find one of the kits as I'm sure I came across it the other day when I was rumaging around in the packing boxes.

I have a couple of their forward fuselages and that was why I decided to bid on it.
My thoughts were to talk to Mastercasters.

I've contacted Jay and we have had some constructive dialog.  It will depend if the VP kit is compatible with what he has done for the Hobbycraft kit.

I've just hook out one of my VP kits I have already and one of the Mastercaster sets to see how they match up, looking good so far.  I'll have to build it completely to see what snags there are.  On the down side, the VP kit doesn't have u/c legs, but on the up side, Mastercasters conversion has a very nice front leg, so all I have to do is a pair of mains.

Great news!!  Going to use the Hobbycraft mains as a starting point and improve them for use as new masters?

Oh, and you might point out to Jay that the Mk.1 and Mk.2 station drawings were posted here recently (I've saved them) and should make a good starting point in defining what a conversion kit for a Mk.2 would require.  It looks like the radome has a different profile and the very aft fuselage and tailcone are different.  I'd reckon that'd be a popular conversion.

When I built my first Hobbycraft Arrow I bought a book about the Arrow too, and found the Hobbycraft mains are nothing like the real thing at all, not even close.  I scratch built mine completely except for the two wheel trolly which I did use from the kit.  The only thing is the wheels are undersized so it doesn't really look right.  so I think I will have another go at some mains and use the VP wheels as these seem to be the right size and look way better detail wise.

I've also asked Jay if he could do some main legs but I'm waiting for his reply to that.  I'll tell him about the drawings here too, I didn't know he frequented this forum though so if he does he'll find out for himself

The exhaust of the MK2 were bigger ,so the elevons and a different plan shape .

Well the mailman delivered two boxes of Avro Arrow stuff today, I'll have to spend a few hours going through the whole thing but at a quick glance the moulds look really good.

I've sent one of my VP kits to Jay and I've had a response today where he has told me he thinks the VP kit is way more superior than the Hobbycraft kit.  It looks like this may work as an adventure.
