Just spotted the first kit of the new Airfix Falklands warship set that includes the 1/600 kits of Amazon, Leander & Devonshire appear on ebay, so they should reach the shelve in the next month or so. looks like i'll have to stockpile a few of these as my original seperate kits have decreased over the years. Now i need to get my "Re-building the Royal Navy" book to see if there might be any useful conversions i can perform on them !!!!.

Also recently released was the Airfix USS Forrestal again, unfortunatrely the kit still depicts her in her original 1950's configuration where as a modern or vietnam aircraft fit would be more appreciated. There might be white metal aircraft appearing fo this kit later in the year that may answer our prayers for decent 1/600 aircraft (just need peter hall to do the RN ones as well to cover Victorious !!!)

Just to let you know i had a set or three of these kits delivered yesterday. These are kits from the 1990's re-release with the oprional underscale Exocet parts, (best replaced with either Pitroad Exocets or WEM's 1/600 Exocet set, also handt to get WEMS resin Sea Car Launchersaswell as the PE brass detail sets to improve the look of thsee kits. Unfortunately Airfixhave combinedall the decals onto one sheet, but all this has done is emphasise how wrong and inaccurate they are as they should beBlack with a white Outlineandthe same size. Instead we get different sizes and fonts showing how bad their decals were in the late 60's, considering how much effort was put into doing accurate Aircraft decal in re-releases its really anoying to see none done for the ships !!!!!.
