QuoteI'm still undecided on how to fill up the huge honkin' holes on the rear of the fuselage (where the horizontal stabs went before
Have you got any etch mesh, like from an armour kit or something?  Put that in the holes - thats what they use on the real thing to "protect" vents and intakes and the like, right?

Colour scheme I would just go with the classic JASDF ghost grey scheme, but maybe with some fancy squadron markings.

Upon further reflection, you could also go for...

The smart F-2A prototype scheme

or how about this T-2 scheme from the Air Proving Wing?

The F-2 prototype one might be the way I go.  Or even the T-2 CCV's scheme (which is darn close to the F-2 Prototype, but I digress...):

I'll see if I've got any of that mesh laying around, but I don't build too many armor kits.  Maybe one of the guys at work has some (they're not into Whif's yet, but they do build models, which was great to find out!).

Settled on a paint scheme:  a subdued and darker ghost scheme.  I've already printed out the low-vis roundels, just need to figure out the rest of the markings.
