I also have thought about an early Mustang (a B/C), powered by an Allison V-1710 with a chin radiator - not one of those depicted, but esp. the right profile with the P-40 fuselage looks really good.

P-40 P-47 & P-51 with A-4 landing gear. A P-51 using the A-4M landing gear a tight fitting turboprop 4 30mm cannons a bubble canopy with better vision than the Malcolm Hood of the B & C models & the canopy of the D & later models, & F-100 cropped wings with cropped wingtips, for air to air missiles.
