1/72 scale: TAI or Trans-Atmospheric Interceptor Model 5000A

the 1/110 scale SR-71 motors just needed to be married to a 1/72 F-104 fuselage.

Been in an early cold war era rut for a while now, hence the loud sloppy Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon type paint scheme. I've also been on a quest to recreate the finish on modern radar absorbent/reflective conopies - I know - I'm workin' on it!

I figured three nozzles = 1 Rocket Nozzle (Center) + 2 (Outer) SCRAM/RAM jets

I'm sure conventional fuels/power plants would render her range a tad on the low end. However, she is an interceptor.

Thanx 4 lookin'!

Me, I'm dishonest, and you can always trust a dishonest man to be dishonest.
Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

Tasty stuff Apoc, the -71 parts look just right for the -104 between the scales!

mmm....there's a T-Tail in there, somewhere.
I love the look of the tailcones.
This is the kind of beastie that no one can blame a grown man for "flying" round the house making sound effects.

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Now this is cool. Parts from 2 of my all-time favorite planes scale-o-rama'd together. Although, it's a bit hard to see with the sci-fi paint. Do you have any of it in primer? Although, that may be just enoguh reason for me to do it myself... Thanks for sharing
