In my own little sad world the Japanese win at Midway and the go on to occupie the Hawaian Isles (it's wifland right) . This leads to a "Pacific First Policy" under the Halifax Treaty signed by the US, GB and the "Empire" and France "Libre".

Basically the US has to start Island hopping all the way from the West Coast (after Japanese air attacks and some bombardments of the West Coast and Panama). The war drops back by some 3 years or so. Because of French resistance in Indo-China Japan never conquers Malaya fully but renders Singapore inoperable for a number of years.

The US also has to contend with problems on the Mexican border which leads to a war with Mexico and there's also a war going on in S America with virtually everyone down there having a bash at Brazil who are supported by the US.

The combined Anglo/French forces advance into Thailand and Indo China during 1945/1946 and then eventually into S China. The US takes the Philipines in 1947 and then moves on to Okinawa. After Okinawa there is a joint invasion of Formosa. Japan is eventually forced to surrender after it's infrastructure is completely destroyed by air bombardment and it's supply lines are completely cut off at sea. No nucs and no invasion.

At the same time we have Japanese forces attacking the Russians (after Black Week Stalin falls and is replaced by a Rodinia Goverment). The Turks join in on the Axis side and it all gives me room for loads of late war projects et al.

As you say, BAGS of scope for all sorts of '46 onwards projects. 

But while all this mayhem is going on around the Pacific what's happening in Europe and the Middle East? If it's similarly delayed I'll have to re-do my own history as I won't be able to get to Egypt in mid 1945, as I did  currently.

After the fall of France (latter in my scenario, as the Amiens counter attack is a success) the French Government withdraws to N Africa and fights on. This enables the combined French/British forces to crush the Italian ones in a matter of weeks, although Italian East Africa takes longer to conquer. However when Barberrosa is launched in May 1942 the Turks with Italian help attack Southern Russia, Persia and Syria, so this gives me my Middle East scenario. In one "Black Week" in 1943 Moscow, Leningrad and Stalingrad all fall which leads to the fall of Stalin and the formation of a "Rodina" Government bringing together all the Russian factions both inside and outside the country for the good of the Motherland. The Eastern front eventually stabilizes to the East of the Volga. Meanwhile after initial reverses on the Turkish front Russian (not Soviet now) forces together with their British and French Allies gradually push their old enemy back.

As for Western Europe to a large extent it's an airwar across the Channel/North Sea until the Anglo/French/Canadian invasion of Sicily followed by Sardinia and Corsica. US forces start to arrive in Europe/North Africa after the Philipines are taken. That's as far as I've got in the West kit, but I can see Hitler dieing of natural causes circa 1947 and with Japan falling in early 1949 attention will fall to Europe.

Note whereever the term British is used it includes all Commonwealth and Empire troops. Canadian's are separate in Southern Europe because their Army operates under their own command.

What a great back story Chris, love it!
Nice build as well, the Fury is the earliest Pegasus kit I still have, it suffers from the lack of intake ducting, so your blanking plate is a perfect solution. The metal parts are nice (I like the pewter cockpit tub), interestingly I have the masters and they are a mix of plastic card and modified kit parts, but the overall effect is very well done. I look forward to seeing the review in the next newsletter.

Your model is perfect for those decals and the wonderful Alt. History, NARSES! I really like how you used the "solid" intake to your advantage. Lazy? I'd call it inspired. Not only that, but you've captured that dark gloss blue USN paintscheme perfectly!
