Okay, so after snow and etc. got in the way, here's a preliminary tapeup:

I see her with four little caster-type wheels at the trailing edge- where the wings go from parallel to the ground, upwards to the fuselage. I also see her on a cradle, with a coule of JATO units between the wings, on either side.

I'd be tempted to install 4 engines (essentially 2 Lightning rear fuselages side by side).

The 4 wings mean you pretty much have to go with castor wheels and a vertical landing (or that hook system used by one of the American tailsitter projects).

looks fantastic, i can make that VTOL mig you posted with a 1/144 RoG MIG-31 kit.
i really hope to see your lighting/thunderbird1 combofighter finished.

Naw....do a profile instead of actually building it and you'll get noticed.

But I gotta say, that's one freaky looking bird ! Looking forward to seeing more progress. I can just imagine the sight and sound of that thing blasting off....awesome !
