Hey Gang,

I think one topic that we have yet to explore is the wonderful world of covert operations. With all of the real world "unique" aircraft/other vehicles that are used for these. . . er, um, "outings" :D, who knows what we could come up with for the guys/gals in black (Carlos' Skyraider for the USAF GB is a excellent example).

Just food for thought

Right up my alley.    Ever since I've been a kid, I've wondered if the operations of the locally-called 'fuzzy bunny Squadron' of  all-black, dis-identified B-29's in Kadena would ever get declassified.

They were definately covert.

The original plan for the HS Big Bomber build was to do a Kadena fuzzy bunny but I deleted the idea since dad still gets really uncomfortable talking about them even privately.  :o   It's his only tight-lipped subject in life.  :(   Something's up.

Additionally, a publication the Squadron did has a similarly equipped F-4 Phantom.  No markings anywhere, all black, no known such aircraft Over There.

Thus coming from that are some 'what-if' scenarios.

Shas, would WWI and WWII era entries be allowed or would the GB be limited to the present? Either way I would be interested.

Chap, I really havent thought this all out (nor was I looking to have my own little GB to torture you poor chaps with  ;) ), just throwing an idea out there. Lets ask the audience for their opinion, shall we?

I think it'd be a good idea to open it up as wide as possible, air, land or sea from any era.  As well as vehicles, troop figures would be a possility too.  As well as the modern era, you could go with Napoleonic skirmishers or even Ninja!

I'm thinking along the lines of some Special Forces troops that were very breifly mentioned in John Nichol's 'Vanishing Point'  At the very end of the book there is unit that turns up dressed in black NBC fatigues & wearing only a yellow scorpion marking for identification.  Nothing much is mentioned about these mysterious troops, so I might try & fill in the gaps myself.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I like the idea of opening this up to all eras. Not that I need an excuse to build one of my inter-war oddball projects. ;)

I agree with all eras, however it should be believeable for the era (i.e no Sopwith Camels with rail guns, No Zouaves with FAMAS, No Ironclads with Chobham armor and CIWS).  But if you can make it work with the technology of the era, like for example...steam powered Gatling guns on a WWI zeppellin- that would be okay.  It has to be believable enough for the average passerby to begin to question their High School history classes.   B)

Now this is one I could get excited about.... got a 1:48 Ka52 Hokum that I had a particularly 'unique' paint job planned-for...... ;)

It would fit right-in with this idea.
