This is a project I did tonight just for the heck of it. I really needed a quick project to finish so here's one made up of found materials.

Materials used: two plastic luncheon plates (got from our Chrismas party at work friday), One carpet protector that goes under the legs of furniture, some clear round sticky dots (used for rubber feet to keep electronics from scrathing furniture tops), one plastic model stand, and paint :)  Here are a couple ofr progress pics.

first I painted the inside of the plates where I wanted the red. Then I glued the plates together added all the parts and applied paint, very simple build. It begged to be lighted but I was keeping it quick and don't know heads or tails about electronics.

Neat build!

Though I think "...a bit of sci-fi flavoring" is something of an understatement!  It looks like it should be offloading a Dalek army!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Luverly stuff!

Nice abstract thinking, Blackops. I like it! Should look good hanging from your cileing. Pretty insirational, too. Makes me want to build a model out of nothing but what normal people consider trash.

For a quick build it's fantastic, there's plenty of film & TV saucers that look much more hashed up than this one.  Good work Black!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Anyone remember the old "Project UFO" TV show?  This build sure brings back memories!  Nice job, Jeff!

Holy crap.  I thought that show was something I made up in my head, because this is the first time another actual human being has ever referenced it. . .

Yep, I remember it.  Certainly was something different to see from Jack Webb's production company.  ISTR it was on 'bout 30 years ago.

Who said anything about "human being"?   B)

Heh, heh.

Silly question (maybe) but, Jeff, what kind of adhesive did you use for all the dissimilar materials?

Jeff,
Question, are the plates about 6" across?  I happened to grab a couple from the recital my daughter had last Friday and they look just like the ones you used ( I took 2 because, well, you know, they would make a neat saucer  B) ).

Barry, oddly enough all the materials I used were of similar styrene type plastic so I just used CA glue. The only thing that was odd was the little clear discs are a clear silicone but they came with thier own adhesive backs so it wasn't a problem :)

Philip, yep just a smidge over 6" on the plates. Tonight we need to go to the grocery store so I'll probably drive the wife nuts looking at stuff we don't need but might be able to make something out of

That's some superlative work, Jeff! I love seeing models made out of "found materials". You've really captured thje look of a "Project Blue Book" UFO perfectly!

My hat's off to you on this one! Excellent work!

Thanks for all the comments guys! I've been having fun runnin' around the house with this one,  I might hace to swing by the toystore and look for some scale cattle to go with it ;)

You know, I loved Project UFO but for some reason I thought it was called project Blue Book DOH! I remember that was one of the shows I would be at home on time for :
