My own thoughts are the warhead was too small, but that doesn't apply to Bullpup.

For the UK it was a lot more regulated with someone asking and receiving paperwork for a few pages it seemed.  The Acadmic was quite serious about it too and couldn't believe it was so free and easily downunder.   

May well of been what the regulations said, but once copiers became more a day to day tool rather than something to be locked away for special occasions, in practice most "private" photocopying was done after hours

Neither photocopied nor Xeroxed, just a standardized printed form.

Poor quality printing then Jon. Looks exactly like copies of copies of copies, and I saw a few of those in my time 

The "scanned" document posted is no doubt a multigenerational copy, but the original blank form that was filled out was printed. There were still various types of printed report forms floating around when I started in 747-400 wire design in the '90s.

Also the scan has been cleaned up, the levels have been adjusted to make the images clearer and more starkly black and white.

We never used that name inn the office. It was always "see you in the photocopy room"    I can remember when you had to have your bosses written permission to get a photocopy and they checked numbers in and out    Before that it was Roneo ? copiers.

I can remember the Roneo-Vickers  machines.   As I recall, it was necessary to send someone to warm them up (put another shovel of coke in the boiler?) some time before the device was needed.

 In schools, we used to use "Banda"  spirit duplicators  (BANDA= Block and Anderson)    which smelled foul and took a great deal of muscle power to use.

Generically "Ditto" machines over here, the ones I used in junior high school and high school were Gestetner brand. 
The Gestetner redesign was Raymond Loewy's first big industrial design gig.

Gestetner - purple ink on shiny paper.  Smelt very chemically.
We had one when I was in the scouts way back when.  Hand wound in the poorly ventilated back room of the scout hut.
