Hs-3c Viking

the HS-3C Viking is the US Coast Guards newest Medium Ranged maritime patrol aircraft. based off the S-3B Viking, it replaces HU-25C Falcon aircraft, and  early model HC-130's, the HS-3C is differnt from the S-3B in that all of the ASW equipment is replaced by SAR gear such as FLIR, Smoke  markers in place of sonar buoys, the carriage of weapons, while not part of normal operaions is still retained due to homeland security concerns. the HS-3C can also carry the AIM-9 Sidewinder in selfdefence and to shoot down non-complaint airspace violators. a 20mm gunpod can also be carried, the torp bay now holds 2 life rafts. the  HS-3's are based at: CGAS Cape Cod, CGAS Elizabeth City, CGAS Clearwater, CGAS Houston, Coast Guard Aviation Training Center, CGAS Traverse City, CGAS San Diego, CGAS Port Angeles, CGAS Barbers Point, CGAS Kodiak. each base has 5 aircraft except for the trainting center wich has 6. all of the HS-3C's are former Navy aircraft, first delivered in 2010, the USCG plans on keeping the aircraft in service at least untill 2035, each aircraft had new wings, and tails made, the aircraft remail carrier capable, and some have been  recoverd on the WesPac carrieres after extened searches, the aircraft are also inflight refuleable as well.


Well im going to be late starting, i have a 1/72 S-3 and a 1/48 HH-65 to pull the decals from, so i have to go back to georgia at the end of the month and get my AMT S-3B and bring the that  back, but i have already started on it so its all good, mean time ill finish  up my A-6 and F-111I

well i started on the 1/72  S-3B i have, but im doing that as a IrAF model ( coming soon) but i still need my mom to mail me my 1/48 S-3 up to me

ok wings and empange are glued and primed, but i have know white paint, ( my A-6E took my last spray can, and that was a waste cuz i just wiped it all off

ok i have the stripes masked out, and the wings have thire first coat of orange ( witch didnt come out to good) when i post the pics ( my dad has   the cam again), the white is just a primer and the black is as well, i haven decided wat the main color will be yet

im gonna make it,  first coat of Orange is drying now, hit the bottome surfaces with the spray can, and put the final pices on, finish bombing her up and ill be 100% done
