wow...a real eye catcher!!!
awesome build...

I had some cockpit canopy issues, but I think that's dealt with, thanks to the creative use of a candle and some clear bubble packaging.  Actually, the re-engineered canopy will look 100 times better than what I had planned originally.  Here's some pics.

I am trying to envision some kind of experimental Naval SEA scheme, but I'm not sure yet exactly how that will pan out.  Paintjob suggestions would be welcome!

Either 1970's us navy colours, bare metal, or VERY dark blue would look great.
Famtastic build though - feeling quite underskilled now.  Must try harder :banghead:

That's really impressive, especially when one flips back and forth between putty pics and the finish you managed to achieve.

Although, I don't know how you could do anything other than "Stealth-Black" now that you've seen how cool that looked!

Thanks for the great comments, guys.  There's never a shortage of positive reinforcement with this group.

Paint is on, and 1 coat of Future.  Decals will be very simple, because all my USN stuff is way too new, and just wouldn't look right.

I'm calling this my "orca" scheme.

Outstanding work! I really like the look of the whole package.

Yes, very cool.

Um, is that some sort of super tarantula down by the bottom of the door in the second picture?  :o

Serendipty?  Times like this, I wish us modelers could put our respective models on a shelf side-by-side and photograph them:

What else would look good in an "Orca" scheme?

That harrier is spectacular (and in proper USMC markings, as well!).

I think some latecomer/postwar naval birds would be great in this scheme.  Bearcats and Tigercats, and some early jets, etc. . .

Rafael

Your Orcatm Scheme is superb!!
The colours really do accentuate the model's outline. Great one!!!
