Hi people,

Thanks for your nice comments. I always wanted to paint a plane with those orange panels mmmm

By the way, Captain, that idea of a model of the year ....

'The Whiff of the year' sounds good to me. I am not speaking about this particular model but in kind of a special GB.

Fantastic work, Carlos!  Now how about a backstory?

Also, I noticed your work on the nose, layering plastic on it then sanding it to shape.  Do you think you can do a step-by-step the next time you have a simlar project?  I was never very good at that sort of thing.

Lovely build Carlos & a very clean paint finish!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Think YSI has a much cheaper and better option  ;D

Like the others say really great work, although - definitely NOT a crit - I'd have simply left-off the weaps  and let the work superb conversion speak for itself.

You are probably right. In fact, I not totally happy with front Sidewinder/PL-2A. :banghead:

This model was started long time ago (2005, still inside cupboard) then I had no idea of the existence of this forum, so I have no pics. But pics in thread's top can help.
Well the nose comes from Hobbycraft F-8 1/100. The point is that MiG fuselage does not mate with Crusader's fuselage at all. So I cut both parts to yield an appropriate total length, and then added Evergreen styrene.
Pieces in top are to cover F8's cockpit hole.
In bottom, front wheel sides, a series of styrene strips (1mmx4mm) cut in acute wedge shape were glued perpendicularly to fuselage surface to form the rear part of intake.
After this, noticeable steps in nose's sides was faired with those white 'chiks'.
Then I considered that the intake looked too small, so I added 3 thin (0.25mm) styrene strips around intake.

Then lots of SR to get the shape. IMHO when big areas or volumes have to be filled, putty is not the answer and I prefer styrene and sometimes only dry glue.

Sorry for my English :banghead:
