UPDATE:

the landing gear problem has been solved, i decided to take BdB's advice and go for Spats  ;D
i managed to scratchbuild them out of leftover styrine, the support beams for the landing gear are made from an old moldframe from an A-6E kit, decided to give it a good use rather then throwing it away

also managed to get some dremelwork done, by milling out the windows and the open cockpit (not visible in pictures). still need to do some final touches on the windows later.

later today im gonna gleu on the tail, tailwheel, propellor and cockpit windowframe, so then she could recieve its first layer of paint tomorrow.

picture time

UPDATE 2:

found some leftover windows from a 1/72 heinkel blitz and a tailwheel from a scrapped 1/72 La-15.
the tailplanes were shown earlier, they are from a scrapped 1/72 RoG Ta-154 (horizontal) and from a 1/72 Airfix KI44 Dinah bomber. she is now standing on its own landing gear, now its time to enter the paintshop (serial decals seen here below  ;D)

Finished:

i found some nice air berlin decals in the sparesbox that to me went very well with the plane
the serials, G-NILS, are custom made.

more back history:

with aviation in germany prohibited after ww1, the british decided to open a new airroute between Berlin and London. BOAC lended a couple of Bristol Adonis aircraft and repainted them for Air Berlin, only difference was that dispite the aircarft bieng based in germany, it would retain its UK civil registrations.

That's a really crackerjack model, Nils! You've really managed to capture the look of an inter-war airliner, and I applaud your addition of the spats and the very cool livery and uber-cool G-NILS registration!

Excellent work!

A courageous build, I'm impressed.  Like the method you used to produce the SPATS!
Going to have to keep that in mind...

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Coooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllll!

And you even whiffed Air Berlin into the mid-war years! Twin whiff!
