Well thank you everyone for your kind responses   FYI  the kit cost me £1.99 coz the box was damaged LoL

Mav, yes the 1:1 scale model is a right miserable cow, she keeps biting me!! But I do   her to a lot of bits and as we only have a handful of volunteers and over 20 aircraft, Im working on her on my own.

Thanks again

Bex

Well Bex, you have my respect & admiration for going it alone & helping a bit of history along the way.  I'm sure if your efforts are anything like your modelling, she will grace the world's presence again.

Nice work! I assume the Ark and the Eagle had line up to allow the RN a big enough flight deck to launch and recover it.

Ofcourse they did LoL  Thats the only drawback of playing with some of the big USN Birds, our carriers were a bit small.

This model now has a new name thanks to Jeffry Fontaine, shes now called ASR1 Vigilante, thanks Jeffry

Bex,

I'm assuming ASR1, or more correctly ASR.1 or ASR Mk 1 depending on who you read would stand for 'Attack, Strike, Recce'?  It's just that it sounded like an Air-Sea Rescue designator .  That said, the designator should come after the name in UK parlance, the US having their designators before a name (if named at all) (eg: Sea Harrier FRS.1 as opposed to AV-8B Harrier).

Nope but it was earmarked for possible use on CVA-01 HMS Queen Elizabeth as a recon platform, so Bex aint far off the mark with a FAA example.

Nice work Bex

Cheers
