Oooh yeah! There's a few ways to get around the ground clearance problem; Extend the gear (ugly and lots of work), have the pylons and attached ordnance pods fold up under the wings on take-off and landing, or, to be even more exotic, launch them on rails like some missiles, a Snark for instance:

I don't think the fold-up idea would work, those pods look to big to clear even if they did.

Now, try finding a cheap Victor to work with. I suspect they're the old Lincoln International models which are as rare as hen's teeth nowadays. It's obviously a B.1, an early mark without the avionics cooling intake at the base of the fin, and I think the Lincoln mold was the only one like that.

Revell also just (re) released those old dinosaur kits in 1/13th.  A little scale-o-rama, some putty, and it's off to the races!

I've kinda been eyeing this guy: http://www.revell.com/catalog/products/Ankylosaurus-936-39.html

I'm thinking a Gamera homage.

Lindberg also did a Victor in 1/96th, last released in the early 'nineties. I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with the Lincoln
kit, but I assume its a UK brand?

The Big underwing pods could be VTOL pods ala' the Do 31 VTOL transport, with all the doors closed

Don't know, they've been out of production for nigh on forty years or so. Their Victor was very simple, 13 parts including the two-piece stand.
