Hi, i hope i've managed to attach my pics properly. (still very new to this internet thing)

The F-35 JSF is the 1/144 revell kit with weapons from an airfix F-20 Tigershark and the wingtip tanks from an old revell F-104 Starfighter kit. I know that in reality the wings would probably drop off in this set up, but i am a fan of 'dressed' wingtips, as some of you out there are fans of 'spatz'. Colour scheme as yet is undecided. Any suggestions?

The Combat Flyer or Drone, i've yet to decide which, build title 'dragonfly', in 1/72, is a mating of an italeri cobra and a matchbox Me-262, (i think the wing and engine shape on the 262 are about as pretty as it gets, they just say 'speed').

The Future Fighter or Racer, still undecided, in 1/72, is, as you may have guessed, the leftovers from the matchbox 262 and the hull and engines from and old amt Enterprise kit.

I'm a wargamer, i have also built many military vehicles in 1/72 and 1/76, so all of my kits are made to be handled, and unfortunately occasionally dropped! and the paint jobs tend to be accurate but not particularly pretty as i brush paint. (Slow yes, but quite relaxing).

But having looked through this site, and still looking, i'm going to try and push my own personal envelope as it were, and do that little bit extra.

Sorry for all the waffle but i thought i'd give you a little bit of background.

Any comments will be greatfully accepted, unless of course they upset me and make me cry!

Good looking work you've got there! I especially like your Apache bash. Reminds me of something in the Terminator movies. Since I know nothing about Warhammer, is there a certain paint scheme you tend to use or just make it up as you go. Looking forward to the finish!

First of all thank you for being my first reply but more importantly for correcting my mistake of saying cobra instead of apache. (hangs head in shame).

used to be a warhammer/40k player many years ago, but now play mostly ww2 in 20mm/72nd scale.

With regards to the kitbashing i tend to go with whatever appeals at the time with regards to colour schemes. having looked at a couple of sites i was thinking of going with a 'real' dragonfly pattern, black with a vivid blue, possibly a mettallic, stripe pattern going down the tail. How i'm supposed to paint the wings like a clear gossamer i've no idea. maybe either a white or silver coat?

the F-35 i'm leaning towards it being a kind of long range, hence fuel tanks, night attack aircraft. i like the idea of a possible black, dark blue and dark grey colour scheme. The actual pattern will depend on what inspires me. (There's a lot more things to look at on this site still).

The sci-fi kitbash will be more of a spontaneous outcome. Still can't decide if it's a future fighter or racer.

Welcome to the asylum, tanktastic! My favorite is the one with the Me-262 fuselage, but all of those projects are very well done and thought-provoking!

I hate to tell you this, but you definitely belong here with the rest of us.

This is a very good jolt to my tired old synapses: you guys who think without boundaries in your kitbashes give me something to look up to.  Reminds me to get out of the silo mentality.  Thank you for joining up and sharing your conceptuals.

Now, about the lack of completed paintjobs . . .   heh, heh...

Nice stuff Tank!  I'm liking a lot of the sci-fi type stuff we're getting from Newbies at the moment.  Love the F-35 too!

WELCOME!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Just want to add my welcome to the loony bin, you've made one hell of an entrance with those builds. Gotta say my 2 faves are the enterprise/262 mix, I love it warp engines on a 262 - priceless. The other one I think is stunning is the 262/Apache combo. Looks very futuristic. You are going to fit in real well around here.

Welcome to the board and thanks for sharing! I'm glad to see so many new creative folks (YES, THIS MEANS YOU!) joining up or de-lurking, some really cool ideas here Tanktastic! I'm starting to think my recent work is a little on the boring side but you guys are sure giving me some good ideas! Looking forward to seeing more.
