Hi everybody

I saw a Cover from the Comic "Luftwaffe 1946". The title was "RAUMKRIEG".
On the Cover was a twin Convair B-36 with a Boeing B-29 on top
and a very special new Luftwaffe sonic fighter.
Now, I am searching for a better drawing, picture or maybe a 3view of this
"RITTER SONIC FIGHTER"! Someone can help me ?

Many thanks in advance

Jschmus

Compared with other aircraft from that series, it looks very anachronistic.  I can see the resemblance to the MiG 1.44, but not the -262.

Yeah, I'd say that was almost entirely a MiG 1.44 with more of a radar nose.  The only features from a Me-262 is the canopy & the X-4 missiles.  If you want to model it, graft those features onto a MiG 1.44.  It does look shorter than normal, so to give it more wartime dimensions could put a 1/72 Me-262 canopy onto a Revell 1/144 1.144?  There's a three view of the MiG 1.42/1.44 on Richard Ferriere:

Apart from that, I doubt your going to find a three view as it's probably purely a product of the artists imagination.  There are real world Luft 46 projects configurations that are very roughly along the lines of the MiG 1.44, but I mean roughly.

The Arado Ar E.581 is about as close as I can find, in that it has a twin tail & under fueslage intake:

Have a trawl through the main Luft 46 site, see if anything takes your fancy:

Hah yes the Luft 46 comics. I have almost all of them including that one. The artist/story guy liked to create his "own" fighters for the comic and that is one of them. You wil not find any reference for that fighter per se. He would have been inspired by some existing desgins but that is about it.

Ther is one issue around here I will dredge up that had a very cool looking Zwillwing B-29 in it.

I stopped getting them some time ago and I think that they are not in print any more.

The most confusing disjointed and in some cases proposterous story ever put to print. And for a comic that is saying a lot

The luft 46 art was cool but the rest of it was utter crap. The early ones featured luft 46 through the whole comic but then they changed and it was only a few pages and then there was the Tigers of terra story amongst others.

The other stories seemed to have no tie in to the Luft 46 timelines the art really sucked and the stories were F%*^(#g S@#t. I'm no prude by any means and I enjoy a little of the ubsurd, but scanily clad big brested women in space and the over use of panty shots was to much for me.

the artist was i believe of "Tigers of Terra" fame a good artist and all around nice guy I hung around with him at a few comic book conventions It was one of his designs that inspired my Me-262 Starfighter

Sorry Panzerwulff but I agree with Sisko , I've got a whole heap of them and have meant to get rid of them for a while now. Maybe on e-bay - actually probably sooner than later now you've reminded me.
It was so disjointed that you never could follow what the F####$#$# was going on.
Seeing L46 planes in print became the sole purpose for buying them - I'm a big L46 nut but even I drew the line eventually and many fellow enthusiasts I knew did the same - hence it's demise.
Massive jumping around in time and story - actually it was so bad he felt the need to provide a guide in one issue as to where the story lines all fitted together - when he had to do that I stopped buying them.   >:(
And if I'm going to buy cheesecake shots at least give me real women

I never said that the comic in question's storyline was all that great  But Ted Nomura Is (IMHO) a good artist and a all around nice guy.I perfered the ToT stories and his oneshots better

Very hard to tell from that pic alone how many engines there are.  If someone has a copy of that issue of the comic & could scan it it would help a lot.   It does look single engined the way the rear fuselage humps, much like an F-35.  You could use the rear fuse from a F-35 & fair it into the forward fuse of the MiG 1.44, but I feel that it will be very difficult as the two aircraft are quite different in size.

Moin1900, I think that it's a good idea to buy a copy of that comic as that's probably the only chance you'll have of finding anymore details on that particular aircraft.  Otherwise, you could kitbash an aircraft that feels right to you, & not worry too much about the fine details.

Not to get off topic but on that cover, did anybody notice that Zwilling B-36?!?!?  Cripes that would be a beast and a half!

I read that he used a F-16 ?

I agree with Mossie in thinking of that jet as a single-engine aircraft......

The plane could have employed rocket boosters to achieve supersonic performance and use the single turbojet as the "get you home" propulsion source.....
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

Now I am very confused !

I need more Insperation! Please !
Maybe Sisko can help?

Well there you go, from the horse's mouth, best source!  It seems that if he designed it 20 years ago, there's little chance he'd have had the MiG 1.44 in mind.  Now the F-16 is mentioned, I can see it in the nose & fuselage.  The intake has been redesigned as well as the tail & wings of course.

I'm afraid I haven't got any sources, I'm just trying to find some insight which might help.  Is Ted Noumura still active on that forum you posted?  It might be worth PM'ing him, he may have the original model he built, or some drawings that he can send you.  He'll be able to tell you how he went about building it, unless time has faded the memory!

I'll pull the issue out tonight and see if there is any internal art work.

I've had a look and sorry to dissappoint but that picture is all there is.

The cover art seems to have no relation to anything inside the comic. I also looked at other issues to no avail. No wonder I found this comic so frustrating

My suggestion would be to bash something out of an F-16 and the beauty is that one one can say you are wrong.
