Very nice indeed. So maginifcently soviet, it has that sort of 'are you sure that thing is safe' look which early Soviet prototypes seem to always display.

Oh come on!!!! Early Soviet prototypes were perfectly safe.. Right up to the moment you started the engines..then it was anyones guess.. :dalek: :dalek: :dalek:

All joking aside though, this has got to rank up with some of the finest builds ever seen on this site of ours. The skiil and workmanship that has turnd out this little gem is absolutley first rate!!

First of all, thanks for the kind comments which I've not acknowledged since May.

After a good start to the GB, real life intervened and I've done virtually no modelling for two months, nor really felt in the mood to do any (my last post in this thread was on 7 May).

However, things in the real world have calmed down a bit, and the Profiles GB has inspired me to think about modelling again, so I thought that I'd make a last minute effort to get this finished. Predictably, trying to finish it quickly led to the discovery of previously unnoticed cracks, fins breaking off and various painting problems, and lack of time meant that I also had to abandon some ideas I had for trying to suggest panel lines etc with masking and slightly varying paint shades.

However, on the whole, I'm pleased with it and pleased to have finished it.

I'm pleased you were able to get this beauty done in time, McG! I'm also very impressed with your concecpt and skill at pulling it off, not to mention the outstanding paint work on the burner cans and the heat shield between them!

Great work McGrieg, I've been following this one with much interest.  Very good scratch build & looks the part of the original sketch.

Nice one!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Love this build!  Superb work McG!!!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

The Rat

That is one of the best builds I have ever see, congratulations for sticking with it!

As for real life getting in the way, most of us cure that with beer and plastic. Some use Twiglets as well.
