I already have a fun backstory for this one (and an Academy Fishbed with Neomega cockpit to go along with it).
How did the country lose its way...when did we stop rooting for the man with a flame-thrower or an acid-spraying gun of some kind?

Some progress to report. Cockpit painted, assembled, and installed. Major structural components together.

I've decided digital macro is a terrible thing. Rest assured the cockpit looks much better in person. Still a few details to paint here and there.

Nice start!  I know what you mean by it looks better in person, zooming in and making it three times bigger than it really is makes me cringe too. I'm using the same kit you are only without the spiffy cockpit upgrade.

Ooohhh another Fishbed..... seems popular choice, eh ? - And that cockpit !!, D*mn, David, you really pushing-out-the-boat on this project aren't you. And you JUST KNOW that I cannot resist a challenge..... so because you've set the bar with that pit, I just HAVE to produce a h*ll of a paint job on mine..... d*mnit !

MiG-21s seem to lend themselves to what-ifs. A true test of my what-if credentials will be if I decide to build my 1/48 Su-15 as a what-if. Hmm...

I wish mine looked as good, I really do!
