Man this is soo cool! I too had been thinking of a way to sci fi a P-38 but i never found any solution-- well done!!
i would just say, that not every astromech droid looks like R2D2 you could have all kinds of different style "heads" and if push comes to shove you can create your own planet for the markings!

Ah yes, I remember that LEGO P-38 contest. IIRC, entries were to be spaceships that use the twin boom, wings, and cockpit nacelle layout of the P-38. Plenty of interesting stuff came out of that.

Looking back in my P-38 sources, I found:
- 7 space P-38 (including this delicious Bubbalicious' SW-38)
- 7 lego P-38 (2 air + 5 space)
I think there are 3 ideas for me:
- rockets at the booms rear
- rockets in the tailplane
- tailplane above with bent inward fins
Nice!

Thanks. It was uneasy to find things there, but at last I got a whole collection of 63 different P-38 space-crafts at

Great!

Dear Bubbalicious,
One more question: is the painted aspect of the "canopy" a temporary state before removing tape used for painting? or is it a final aspect "all metal"?

tophe,
the canopy will be conventional along w/ the cockpit.

I do have to say there probably won't be much done to this project for a while. With summer here there's to much other stuff to do so check back in a few months.
