Big enough to hide the vehicle in, thereby making it self-emplacing...... ;D

Good looking build and very credible.

Couple of not so hot pics, bad lighting (green cast on one end-red on the other Aaarrggh) quickie photography on the modelling bench.

Proper photos tomorrow along with the concluding installment of the Saddam and Gerry Show.

Cheers, Jon

Nice model.  It looks like something that really could have been done at the time.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Very nice.   Now, did you build one for each of us in the class?

Still not happy with the pics, but here is a couple more.
As I forgot to mention earlier, I did some mild weathering and shading with pastels and Gundam weathering paint markers.

and now...

The Saddam and Gerry Show; conclusion

Scene: inside Saddam's private theater, SH in a comfy chair GB entering stage right.

SH: Gerry, my friend come sit. We are about to watch the test firing on my new big screen.

GB: Umm, I see you went ahead and used the Scud carrier as a mount against my advice.

SH: Gerry, Gerry you got your way on scaling up the US 203mm gun for the basic design, let others share in the glory.

GB: It won't work, the recoil will destroy the vehicle.

SH: (getting irritated) Our Iraqi engineers are among the best and they assure me that the reinforcements to the chassis will absorb the recoil.

GB: (under breathe) It'll absorb it alright.

SH: Enough of this chatter, get some refreshments and sit down, the show is starting.

Off screen a voice begins a countdown in Arabic
Scene switches to image of the gun on a big screen TV
Countdown reaches zero, a huge blast of fire and smoke erupts from the gun muzzle
Immediately following the room fills with the sound of the blast followed by the rending and screeching of destroyed metal
A giant cloud of dust envelops the scene.

GB: (under breathe, looking down smiling into his glass) Told ya so.

SH stares at the screen saying nothing as the dust cloud slowly clears revealing a twisted and broken machine,
the spade has been twisted up under the rear of the vehicle and mixed in with the gun mount that has been forced through the bottom,
all rear tires have exploded and the front half of the vehicle is bent up into the air at a 20 degree angle twisted to the left,
the gun tube points crazily to the sky... the whole mess resembles a battered fist with an extended middle finger.

SH: (Coldly furious)Turn it off and send my son Ude the list of the project engineers, he'll know what to do.

SH Turns to GB

SH: Now about the Mother of All Guns....

Fade to black
