Radial Hurricane

Alternative history:
Allied, after assessing german campagn in Poland and gathering good intelligence info, decide to attack Germany from french border in late december 1939. To accomplish this offensive, they need antitank aircrafts. But time is short and the RAF decides a quick and dirty, but prudent solution: Radial Hurricanes equpped with Bristol Taurus engines in order to save Merlins and Hercules for Spitfires and Bombers. A pair of 20mm guns and a bomb as ground attack armament. All this things produced the aka BombHurri.

And here we go! Finished pictures of the Ejercito del Aire's F-14 Tomcat, as envisioned by SPINNERS.

Original profile shot:

General view, showing off the gorgeous camouflage scheme and sleek lines of the F-14:

Side view showing weapons, markings and cockpit:

Belly shot, showing off the warload:

After having fiddled around with several ideas for armament, I decided on a precision strike loadout - the Tomcat carries two Taurus KEPD 350 long-range air-to-ground missiles, as well as two AIM-9M Sidewinder missiles for self defence. Two AMRAAMs are also carried under the fuselage, providing a secondary air-to-air capability once the strike has been carried out. Other hardpoints are occupied by drop tanks.

This is the Italeri F-14A, in 1:72 scale. Spanish decals, Taurus missiles and AIM-9Ms from the Revell Eurofighter. Paints are a mixture of Tamiya, Citadel and Vallejo, all hand-painted. Hope everyone likes it! :)

And we're done!  Thanks to all those who participated and actually finished their builds (I've got two F-14's looking forlorn on my bench from, oh, about mid-July).

One of the other mods will set up the voting, but I wanted to say this was a fun build to take-part-in/watch, and hope it returns in some form in the future (as a 1-weeker, 1-monther, annual build, etc).
I exist to pi$$ others off!!!
