Built a Finnish EF2000 a couple of years ago. Looks pretty damm good too.

a new award (the Suomi Trophy) will be awarded at the IPMS. Scotish Nationals for best Finnish subject on the competition tables, a good excuse to complete all those ongoing Finnoscandia subject builds ...

The 'Suomi Trophy' at the 2008 Scottish Nats', was awarded to a neat diorama depicting a 'Motti' scene during the winter war, a really nice piece of work with lots to see across the model, the same chap being responsible for a 1/35 scale BT.42 assault gun converted from a BT. tank, as well as a single figure depicting a ski borne sniper in coveralls lining up a shot!

Other Finnish subject material on the competition tables were nice DC.3's in Finnair and Ilmavoimat markings, both from the Revell kit, as well as our own 'mistress mannerheim's 1/32 scale Horten which was awarded a highly commended

Chris (narses) had a neat lil Dewotine on the 'what if' table as did Sandy (tojo633) with his Yak 15 in Finnish colours

hmm..i guess we'll have to get building for next year..lol

hiyas all, re a possible group build theme, anything goes i guess as long as it 'loosely' fits in with the spirit of the subject matter ...  any thoughts?

... added a 'few' more (over 200 images at last count) to the online repositry of 'what-if' Ilmavoimat subjects over at the 'Finnoscandia what-if' site, again many many thanks to all those who have created such wonderful and inspiring material in both artwork and model form (which i have shamelessly purloined and stored!) we should definately try to get together a 'group build' at some point?, id happily help co'ordinate it and as mentioned previously provide suitable prizes too! (hmm plastic or finnish alcohol?..lol!)
