Just call me Ray

One of my what-ifs from the Centurion thread, how about some road mobile instant sunshine?

Note that I had mistakenly called it Blue Streak when it's clearly Blue Steel.
It's a crappy self-made pic of a Lockheed Unmanned Combat Armed Rotorcraft (UCAR), BTW

Looks like an interesting concept Ray.  A bit like the Pluton/AMX-30 combo.  I wonder if the Blue Steel would need a booster though to get it airborne?

from what I've read about Blue Steel, it would definetly need a booster to get airborne. And you definetly would not want to carry the weapon about while it is fuelled, 'cos it might go boom....HTP fuel is very nasty stuff.

More likely two boosters with canted nozzles such that the thrust line from each ran through the cg of the whole combination.  You have to have the booster thrust through the cg or vehicle dynamics on launch get "interesting".  There was a bit in "Runways of Fire" on the ZELL experiments about this and I know that Northrop had a clearly defined procedure for doing this with the Snark's boosters.
