Oh well here's my entry - nothing fancy just a re-paint of the good old Airfix Mk I, which is a nice relaxing kit to build.

Aircraft represents a Spifire I of Fighter Squadron Ja.V.A.1 as at 1st September 1939. Finished in RAF camoflage scheme but with aluminium undersides.

Airfix kit as mentioned, painted with Xtracrylic and Lifecolour plus a few bits done with Humbrol acrylic.

Markings are from a Techmod sheet for Dutch and Finish Fokker DXXI's I got cheap in Prague. Just loved the 3 white mice of the unit marking

Final shot after playing with the contrast. Sorry about the lighting but it's very dark today and to be honest I'm still getting to know my camera

looks great, the dutch did operate spitfires after the war.
ther even was 1 at the koksijde airshow last year
but if they had some Mk.1's, the dutch would have put up a good fight against the germans.

here's some ifo on the (real) dutch spitfires

Nice and simple Chris :) Whats the significance of the 3 blind mice?

FWIW I think the last pciture is the best.

Sales of Airfix kits plummeted in the 1980s, and GCSEs had to be made easier as a result - James May

Looks good.

I still need to find a kit as I want to do mine with the orange triangles.

All I know Nev is that the 3 Blind Mice was the Squadron's "insignia" - only Dutch pre WWII unit marking I can remember seeing on a transfer sheet.

In the last pic I played with the contrast a little - lots to learn  :banghead:
