Saudi Arabian Typhoon First Flight

The first of Saudi Arabia's Eurofighter Typhoon's took to the skies from BAE Warton recentley.  Unfortunately, (but not suprisingly) it's an F-15 style air superiority scheme rather than the cool Tornado scheme.  Seems to be a little more blue than the Eagles, but it could be a trick of the light.

Pic borrowed from this site & plenty more there:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Hi Simon, it actually flew several weeks ago!  I'm pretty sure I started a thread about it (maybe on BM?)

Anyway, Bobski - who works there - says the camo is RAF Barley grey base, with the German Typhoon grey as the darker colour.

That's the first I've seen of a low-viz Saudi roundel.

I thought the green was "holy", as in it should always be used, but maybe that's only together with white. Anyone know for sure? 'Cause otherwise a low-viz roundel of green only would be neat. And the fin flash/flag is still in green & white.

Yeah, I somehow missed it & found out when I picked up a copy of Aircraft Illustrated.  Trouble is with monthly publications, you can come across something a month late!  Hadn't seen it on here & I keep meaning to sign up to Brit Modeller but never get around to it.  Thought it looked pretty smart & a difference from the usual plain Tiffy pattern.

I thought I'd seen a model in the Dk earth/Lt Stone/Dk Green combo but can't find it, although I have seen a CGI & also one in just Dk Earth/Lt Stone.

And Supertom did a brilliant Saudi one in Eagle greys a few years back as well

Just remembered, I posted something about Whiffy Tiffies from ARC sometime last year, there's also a few models & profiles from peeps here too:

And I've found Tom's build thread with in progress pics, but the completed thread pics are dead.  Tom, re-post please if you can!

how soon i wonder before this ends up on a decal sheet?  ;D

iirc, there are some low vis saudi roundels on the Zotz sheets but i don't think that they
are this size. btw, flight international had a plan view of a tiffie on the cover of their 2007
issue that featured a survey of the world's air forces, but this was with the green saudi roundels.

You're right, that is a silly question.  After all this is a WHIFF group, of course we want to see them.
