The tilt wing ford is based on a real patent i found in one of Chris 707's patent office books.

The sea Cranberry, was built as a space filler for the long gone 72nd scale carrier flight deck i built for a cadet model display.  all 15 feet of it. I did have pics of it posted up on the original forum for this place, ill see if i still have them.

Hello to everyone I met up with at the show, it was great to be able to put faces to names and have the craic. As per usual, the just looking rule got booted into orbit, and I came away with yet more, bumph for the collection. One thing I do regret though is not buying the airfix Kaman seasprite that was on the first stall as you went into the main hall, there were 2 of them at the right kinda money too....BUGGER!! Never mind I am sure one will turn up again. Oh... and the trumpy TU-160 in 72nd scale..noooooo, how dare they wave that in front of me for 15 quid less than my LMS.

Bolton was the first show for the Cold War SIG as well. Chris (Falcon) is off line for a bit so - -

The first display was well received and we had a number of good general comments about the display. We had a large number of aircraft on the table covering a number of NATO and Soviet types both fixed wing and rotary, and a good line up of AFV's.
Thorvic's scratched RAF tanker fetched a number of comments from people who wanted to know if it was a kit- they were very impressed to find it was a scratchbuild, after we figured it out for ourselves.
A little more embaressing, well initially, was being asked a few times how we had got such a good "metallic panneling effect" on a couple of the Migs on display. We had to cough for the fact that the display was a bit light on the Soviet side so we had "cheated" by including 2 diecast Mig-21's, and the metal effect was so good because they were err, metal, most people saw the funny side of it.
The SIG is planning to display at the Huddersfield show in Febuary.
