Actually the first flight in Canada was made in 1908 by Casey Baldwin flying a Curtiss Red Wing, the Silver Dart was the first Canadian built aircraft to fly in this country. But what the heck, it's another excuse for a party!  :drink:

Casey Baldwin was the first Canadian to fly when he flew Red Wing over Lake Keuka at Hammondsport, N.Y.
March 12th, 1908.

Silver Dart was built in Hammondsport, N.Y. by the A.E.A. at Glenn Curtiss's plant, as were all four of the Aerodromes.
McCurdey's flight in Silver Dart on February 23, 1909 was the first flight in Canada.

Parks Canada has a good chronology of the A.E.A.
