You've got aftermarket level of detail there.  If you were to take a decent kit and add that amount of resin, you'd be pushing well over £100. For the detail hounds, this might actually be a cost saving.

Won't stop the aftermarket adding more though.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Someone, somewhere will claim there some doohicky missing from a fin or somewhere, and produce a resin 'corrected part' at around $25 that will 'ensure accuracy'.

Even if there ISN'T a missing doohicky...........................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That's a mental price guys ....we know how good Tamiya can be but are they that good ?

Phill, it is a 1/48 scale kit! ;)

Given the detail, the size & the overall effect of inflation at the moment, I don't think it's that expensive for what it is.

Still not something I'm going to buy, though.
Guy well for 48th that's not bad but still a little much for our English mates ..at the mo 100 quid is $208 nz so for possibly the first time in years we're cheaper 😉 😀.
I did watch a build video on this Kit and WOW!! mate ..this is one hell of a kit 😍
The decal sheets alone are enough for some folks to have fits over .
Yep Tamiya went over board with this kit for sure....ive got the Kitty Hawk kit and that's almost good enough for me but I still want the Tamiya kit  ;D
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .
