QuoteIf the files size does not appear on your screen (files list with Windows-Explorer from Start/Program/Accessories or directly on "Poste de travail" for Windows2000/XP – WorkBench ? Ollie please help me translating...) use Display menu and click on Details instead of List or Mosaic or Icons.
Doesn't that answer your need Toad ?
More simple maybe : on the same screens (giving the file list per directory), instead of choosing Display / Details (with changing the column sizes if you do not see all on a small monitor/screen like 640*480 pixels) - just stay as you are (in Icon or List or Mosaic mode) and right click on the file you want to know the size of --> among the Properties is the precise size... Do you like it Toad ?

Quoteas I have lots more aircraft in the pipeline.
Lyn
:) Oh... Lyn, please, give us a list, to make us dream of the forthcoming ones...

I know it is uneasy, as how to introduce with words a marvel like your OV-12 ? A-10-like canard Bronco ? not easy... but that would make us dream and imagine, and if someone is surprised by the final post, not matching a personal interpretation, that could be the starting point to build the other way as a complement... What-if spirit at its very best, no ?

QuoteI will download IrfanView and see.
Good ! Easy, and a few seconds are enough to find the first steps for us :
a) menu Image/Resize-Resample/Half (and it's done!) or replace the click on "Half" by a click on "Set newsize as % of original", and type for instance 85% (and it's done) - I will have to check if the Image/Information provides directly the size of the file to post, I am not sure - otherwise, save as .... and check the size loading again or by the other ways I mentionned.
d) menu Image/Convert to greyscale (and it's done!) - but the file size in Image/Information stays the same, I will have to explore a little more.
Anyway, thanks Overscan, this software is great ! Easy to download, easy to use, free ! Great !

For viewing pictures in Irfanview:

Go to "options" menu- select "properties"
-click Viewing tab
Tick "Use resample"

Now when you open a picture press "enter" to view full screen and "space bar" to go to the next picture in the folder.

Nice!

overscan

Also if you open a picture in a window in irfanview, the status bar at the bottom of the window tells you the size of the file on disk and the size of the file uncompressed.

I have Windows 98 too, but the French one, sorry... With size as "taille" and not the pixels... I don't know why.

Apart of properties on right click, the other way was Windows-Explorer (not Internet-Explorer) with Display details. Here : screen.jpg is 44Kb. Okay ?

Quotethe in-flight image actually looks even more realistic!  I'm going to have to try that. ;)
This is an uneasy point... JMNs would tell us Absolute Realism is mandatory, but here we are special, following another direction... Is "more realistic" meaning "better" ? Yes and No, it depends. But I understand so well... I have spent so many years dreaming, hoping my dreams come true someday... Dreams are nice, but this is just as the Reality we hope happening. "What-if" means actually "What-if Reality were...". I understand. Thanks for your help classifying my thoughts and raw feelings...
