Don't know if it matters to you but the Italeri kit has some interesting loadout options, while Hase kits have none. Also has the outboard underwing pylons, which have only been integrated in the latest Eagle variants like the SG, QA and EX. Means you'll have bits for the spares box for future builds. ;)
When i was after a 1/72 twin seat F-15, i chose the Italeri only because it is cheaper while providing a similar level of exterior detail. Like i said above, Hase's kit is more refined in detail but the difference is, IMO, negligible for the price difference and amount of work involved in building it. Both kits have separate wings and nose section, will need filling and sanding, same for the intakes.
I'd prefer to have a Hase kit but the price difference, availability and the details i mentioned made my choice easier.

The real top-notch F-15 kits are by Great Wall Hobby (G.W.H.) but the cost is quite high. Better than the Hasegawa kits and with weapons. Only made as a single-seat C/J or the two-seat E or I.

Plaza Japan and Hobby Easy are also an option for cheaper models. Depending on how accurate a model you want, I believe most Strike Eagles before the 2012 Hasegawa model weren't a good representation of the type. I'm afraid I can't tell you which is better as both the D/DJ and E types I have are both Hasegawa. That said, I believe the Academy one is meant to be a good E and K type, though the tail feathers are a little lacking.

The extras don't matter for this build, but spares are always good.  The main reason for thinking about the Hase kit is the perceived ease of build.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

They look lovely, I did consider them.  Parts count slightly puts me off, but a lot of that is weapons. However, the FAST packs are built into the model and not separate.  Also, most modern F-15E kits have an integrated wing, having a separate one will be particularly useful for what I've got in mind.

I'll have a look at Plaza Japan and Hobby Easy.  The Academy kit I'd also discounted because of it's integral wing.

Seems like i got that wrong on my previous post, the Hasegawa kits have a separate nose section but Italeri is one piece fuselage split horizontally. Only the radome is separate. So comparing ease of build, i believe they should be pretty much the same although some might prefer to deal with a seam on top and bottom instead of the sides. I'm sure you'll be happy with any of these kits so, whichever is easier to get, i'd say that's the best option.

That looks nice. To be honest, I don't think I'll order from HLJ as I want it sooner rather than later.

If I wanted to hack the wings off, does anyone have an opinion on the Hobby Boss F-15E?

If it seems like I'm leaning towards easier kits, it's because I've got a bad family situation at the moment. I want a build that shouldn't take long so as not to get in the way, but also a distraction and making sure I plan in some time for myself.
