Carrying on my Honduras museum piece air force theme, I thought to myself, I needed an electronic warfare platform. Having a look at what I had in the stash didn't fill me with any ideas, until the matchbox Douglas Skyknight arrived in the post. The kit arrived part built so needed a bit of sanding and filling but not too much. I added a hump on the dorsal spine of the plane so as to house some electronic bumph, and added a pod to the tail for the same reason, wing tip tanks were also added, as ECM pods would be fitted to the 2 wing pylons, also there is another ECM pod on the centreline between the engines.
As soon as I saw this thing I thought that it looked too lumbering to be an attack/COIN/CAS aircraft, and it sort of reminded me of a smaller version of the EA-6, so that is what it has become. I wanted to put a more modern looking bubble cockpit canopy on it and some ejector seats, but I did not have anything that would fit reasonably right for the canopy, and the only spare ejector seats I had would not fit, so it got the crappy seats that wouldn't look out of place in a doctors waiting room, thankfully you can't see them to well. The canopy was a bad fit so I built up the top of the nose up to the front glass with putty, just to make it a bit more aerodynamic, if I come across a canopy to replace this one all that, including the roof will be cut out and maybe some bang seats fitted also.
So here it is anyway, I called it electric toad because it looks just like a squat podgy lumbering toad, so I did it a colour to suit also.

Considering that the Marines converted some Skyknights to F3D-2Q (later EF-10B) electronic warfare a/c, your idea isn't too far fetched.  I like the camo pattern.  Good looking model.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

And here I was expecting a post about Captain Canada being turned into a Cyborg! :drink:  Nice looking camo!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Yeah, that's a good looking scheme.  It needs some kind of froggy nose art, like a toad riding some lightning bolts or something.
