Hi wingman,

Well it's got kinda forgotten ----- the bits are still packed away in a box although the fuselage is sitting on my top shelf in my office and on top of that I started some other projects, the latest being my TSR-2 project.  On the plus side while rumaging though the stash boxes, I did find the box of bits so I think I will finish this off sometime in the near future.  JHM will be please to know I'll finish the painting with my air brush as I've built up a bit of confidence to using it following the Turbo Terrier build I just completed.

That is pleasing to hear.  I do recall how daunting even my simple Aztec airbrush seemed at first.  Glad to hear you got over the a/b-phobia.

No, really, this is way too cool for the boneyard!  Absolutely love the six-bladed main rotor.

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Funny you should all be saying to get on with it --- I was looking for something in the stash when I found in a kit box some Aeroclub wheels I had bought for something but I can't remember what, the kit box had a bunch of different stuff in it not specifically for the model shown in the artwork.  Looking at the wheels though I thought they were more like the main wheels off the Cormorant so I then had a rumage around and found the Cormorant box I've got all the Petrel bits in.

A quick comparison shows that they are similar, not quite as big in diameter but definitely wider than the ones I was going to put on. These photos show the new wheels I'm now going to use for the front wheels.  You can see they're much wider and look more the part.  So this one is back on again and I'll try to get it finished soon (there's not really much more to do to it anyway plus I've got a big project coming up, I've joined a Vacuform GB on Britmodeler and I'm going to do a 1/72 CC-150 Polaris [Transport Wings kit] and a 1/72 CC-177 Globemaster [Combat Models kit] in RW and I want to clear up my desk before I start these)
