I agree, the canards look good.  What's Russsian for 'hammerhead' I wonder?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

However Felice does have her useful moments - a few days ago (no doubt while trying to get Leonard's companion volume "Les Chtourmovik" off the shelf) she knocked over an old, unbuilt Matchbox MiG-21 kit. The Matchbox kit has a separate nose section and, as I was picking up the pieces, it occurred to me that adding the large nose of the later versions to another cut-down Hasegawa MiG-21F might give me another interesting Chinese whiff (and one that might fool a few people, as the actual Ye-7/1 prototype combined the large nose with the original canopy and fuselage spine).

See my cat comments in the Mig-31 with more G article. Cats and models can coexist together.

Looking good Gordon,

Some of the Russ prototypes & concepts are nifty looking ships & combining their features is brilliant.

Well, six months down the line since the last post, it's clear that this hasn't quite been the quick project originally intended. I'm not sure why I let it stall at the painting stage, but I've recently done a couple of marathon airbrush sessions to get a few projects, including this, moving again. I'm happy with the result so far - with luck it won't take six months to make the next post!

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Water ripples, nice!  Glad to see this one back on the go.

Definately looks wicked - I love the MiG-21 and similar style nosebreather planes - Unlike most nosebreathers, like the Saber, the MiG-21 and Su-17 manage to appeal to me, probably for the nosecone breaking flow.  Equally appealing are the Yak-17 style with the ventral exhausts, they look like a jet conversion of a prop aircraft, and just seem somehow fitting for the times.  I guess I'm a little judgemental on some birds.  Beautiful work with the canards though, and the big nose classic canopy should equally look pretty interesting.  Keep up the awesome work!
