Mmmm, carrot & peas!  Looks good so far Rat.  I've got the same sheet & it's waiting to go on something a little special, hopefully I'll get done this year!

Hmmm names, Candadian animals, Badger or Bear??? ;)  Moose might well work as an official name, since they named a tank after a Skink of all things!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Yup, that's a very beutiful plane.

I specially liked that bit of detail you did on the engines

Just a quick update - yes, the build is still progressing, here's a shot of where it's at:

You'll notice in the decal sheet scan that there is a complicated scheme on the engine nacelles. There is no way that the nacelle decal on the sheet will fit on this one and there's only two of them anyway, so it has to be hand painted. I've got the green on each one, now it's just a matter of touching up the edges before applying the orange. The black anti-glare panel might get larger, then again it might not.

The white paint has, predictably, been the biggest problem. I've tried all the suggestions and it's still pitiful (And if anyone suggests 'Floquil Reefer White once more they'll get a thick ear. Tried it, didn't work) But I'm forging ahead anyway, because there has been one very pleasant surprise - the Model Master International Orange has been absolutely wonderful to work with! It goes on easily with a brush, and can be dabbed here and there after puttying and sanding and overspraying and it looks like one continuous coat. I can't reccommend it highly enough.  The orange stripes are being done one by one. I don't feel like trying to mask the lot, paint them all, and then find that I've mucked up all of them.

Haven't checked yet, but I'll do that soon. The wing and the canopy were the only critical bits missing I think, or maybe they were the only bits. I just dropped them into the bag with the rest then opened the Comet with trembling fingers!  ;D

Stunning scheme and it sure seems to suit the Tradewind.  Looking forward to more...as always.

Just checked, still missing the front canopy/windscreen at least, not sure about anything else.

Just bumping this up to let y'all know that this project is just about done! Most decals are on, just a bit of paintwork left to correct a slight mis-alignment from one side to the other, paint the prop tips and then install them, and she'll be ready for pictures.

Plus they're easier to get in kit form. ;D The only thing really left to do is glue the props into place, but I've also decided to do the leading edges properly with a Corogard paint, at the moment I've faked it with IJN Grey. I might add some doors and have coloured cotton coming out to simulate water, but getting that right is almost another project in itself.
