Your work never fails to delight and amaze me, Vostoc and your somewhat "lightly armed" jet P-40 is no exception. A winner all the way!

Beautiful work, man.  Almost makes me want to resurrect that Jet-Hien idea I had when building mine, of turning that ventral rad and the spinner area into a Yak-15 style nose-breathing belly-burning jet conversion, maybe take the nose top off a Shinden and fit in some 30mm guns with a pair of 20's in the wings, for a real Fortress Buster look.  I'd consider it with a Hien 100, but the kit's so damn expensive to get my grubby paws on.  Then again, the Hien and the 109 are so close I could enjoy doing a few different bash-mashes of the set - Hien wings and gears on a 109G anybody?  Maybe take a spare 109G cowling and spinner, put them on a Ki-61 for a heavier-hitting Swallow model?  Shame there isn't a 61-II model out there in 1/72 that I know of.
Putty-fu, Scratch-jutsu and Bash-chi, the sacred martial arts of the What-If. Mastering them, is Ancient Chinese Secret.

Just your friendly neighbourhood Mad Scientist and Ship-whiffer.

Overkill? Nah, it's Insurance.  So are the 20" guns.

Oh, but there is. If you mean the bubble-top inline Hein, yes. Fine-molds makes the bubble-top Ki-61 and Ki-100 bubble top.  The kit in the pic below is almost OOB, with some minor corrections and a four-bladed prop.

>Then again, the Hien and the 109 are so close I could enjoy doing a few different bash-mashes of the set<

Yeah. I will someday make a "Me-209 carrier fighter" with lots of kit parts to bash, including a Ki-100 engine/cowl.
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!
