Just when you thought some of our creations looked off...the real world always can beat it!  I present something I just stumbled across - The Tairov Ta-3 fighter:

What other real world "but it looks like a whiff" oddities can you show?

Greg

The T249 Vigilante featuring the largest Gatling gun ever assembled is a bit unreal... Shame it never reached production!

I like my guns a bit like my women: big, bad, and quite willing to accept 37 mm of fury!

That Vigilante certainly looks the part, not only against aircraft, but against an armoured column, crikey what a mess it could make.

You can't beat the Russians and French in the 30's for weird looking aircraft - don't you just love them

That Ta 3 looks slightly influenced by the SE-100, with a dash of Beaufighter ? Memo to self dig kit out of stash !

Now Greg I assume you are talking about posting pics of aircraft that flew, not just existed as a design ?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yep, (or tanks, ships etc) - in other words, it can't be a purely paper design.  There has to be hardware.
